How To Use Tasty Showcase
Tasty Showcase is a clean, attractive and powerful template utilizing the Karmic Flow slider from Karmagination. But to make sure it is as easy to use as possible, I've decided to offer some tips here on maximizing your use of the slider.
Slider Images
The first step to getting the slider to work for you is putting in the large slider images that go along with each post. These three tips ought to help:
- Make sure your images use the proper dimensions: 653px wide x 367px high.
- Save your images into the
/imagessubfolder. - Because the slide images are actually background images, you won't find them in the html. Instead I've created a separate CSS file strictly for these images to make changing them as easy as possible. So just open the file
slideimg.cssand you can change the names of the files listed under each post to match the picture you have saved for that post. As a default, they are calledpost1.jpg, post2.jpg, post3.jpg, and post4.jpg. So the simplest solution would be simply to replace these pictures with your own and then you won't have to change the CSS.
Slider Controls
The slider controls are the post titles on the right side of the slider. You will find them as a unnumbered list, ul, under div id="controller". Be careful to watch that the length of your titles do not run onto a second line or your paragraphs onto a third, or else things will look very screwy and may be unusable.
My quick testing showed that the controller titles should not go over 22 characters, and the paragraphs should not go over 95-100 characters. But those will vary based on your text so just be careful.
The Slide Descriptions
The slide descriptions can also be found as a ul, but this time under div id="container3". There is more room in the paragraph section of this part, but the title should still not be longer than 22 characters.
Slide Speed
You can edit the duration of the slides and the speed of the transitions in the section of each html file. By default they are all the same, but you can change the speeds for individual pages if you like.
